Directions to Snow Goose Charters.

 From  the Northern Illinois or Iowa area, go  to I 80 and take that road East, and it becomes I 80/94.    Continue into Indiana, passing I 65 and the Indiana Toll Road.  Note that there is construction from the toll booth to the Indiana line, and you might want to have an alternate route in mind just in case.  However, at that early hour, traffic usually flows pretty well.

About three miles or so East of the Toll Road entrance, you will come to exit 19, which is Indiana State route 249.  Take that exit.  As it is a right hand exit ramp only, when you come to the stop light at the top of the ramp, take a left on 249 and you’ll be heading North.  You will go north only about 6/10ths of a mile.  This is a divided highway.  Just before you turn into our marina (Doynes),  there is a Family Express gas station, great for a coffee to go or last minute supplies.

At this intersection, there is a stop light, and once you go through the light, get in the left-hand lane.  You will travel only 3/10ths of a mile from the gas station intersection to the turn into our marina, which is the second left turn you can make after crossing through the stop light.  Almost immediately after the light, there is the first left turn lane.  Go past this one, about 75 yards,  and take the next possible left across this divided highway. There is also a big green highway sign on the right which says Michigan City – Gary exit one mile.  The turn to the left is only about 20 yards past this sign.

There is a low profile concrete bridge over Burns Waterway, and if you go across this bridge, turn around and come back as you’ve gone too far.  Just before the bridge, and I mean just before it, there is a cut across on the highway. Take that left and go onto the tar and chip road leading into the marina.  Going through a wire fence gate, you are in the marina parking lot.

On your right you’ll see the small boat launch ramp, and just to the left of this ramp is a small building and a drive in entrance into a grass parking lot.  On the left of the lot is a white building, and in the center of that lot is a stairway leading down to the main pier head.  Park where it is convenient in that grass lot, and go down the stairs and turn to your left.  We are the last boat on the end of the pier head, and are right next to the two large boat lift out stations and ramps for same.  Dock # 20.  If you miss this area, look for the two large boat ramps and come down to the bottom of these ramps and you’ll see our boat and dock facilities.

At night, our dock area is well lit and covered.  Our dock has a number of fish lights hanging from the covered area, and the lights are always on.  From southern or central Indiana, go to Interstate 65 North and follow the above directions, going east when you come to the junction of I 80/94 and I 65.  From eastern Indiana and or Ohio, go west till you get to the I 80/94 junction and take that to exit 19 and follow these instructions.
